Hedgies targeting SSD hampered by new laws

Hedge funds have started to take a keen interest in the Schuldschein market, but restructuring laws in Germany set to come into effect in January will stop them before they truly get started.

Few thoughts make Schuldschein stalwarts less pleased than the fact that hedge funds are beginning to take an interest in their product.

Over the past few years hedge funds, or banks acting for hedge funds, have bought Schuldscheine in the nascent secondary market.
