HKEX chief Charles Li to retire early

Hong Kong’s stock exchange has named an interim replacement for chief executive Charles Li, who is stepping down at the end of the year after more than a decade leading the bourse.

Li informed HKEX’s board of directors on Tuesday of “his wish to retire early”, according to an announcement by the stock exchange after markets closed. Li’s contract was set to run until October 2021.
