Santander pushes to front of pack in loans as crisis wrongfoots rivals

Santander has surged to the front rank of the EMEA syndicated loan market since the coronavirus crisis began — the bank made a deliberate strategic push.

Many large, investment grade companies have turned to banks this year for extra loans, to give them assurance of having enough cash to get through the Covid-19 pandemic.
