Market participants expect Uruguay’s new centre-right government to tighten fiscal policy, but rating agencies believe doing so will prove a difficult balancing act.

Luis Lacalle Pou won the presidential elections last week, beating incumbent coalition Frente Amplio’s candidate Daniel Martinez in the second round. The election marked the end of 15 years of Frente Amplio rule.
