Brexit delay clouds outlook for UK listings revival

The decision by the European Union and UK on Wednesday night to extend the country’s membership of the bloc until October 31 prolongs the uncertainty that is deterring UK companies from attempting IPOs.

The UK’s equity capital markets have made a strong start to the year despite Brexit, with volume up by 20%, driven mainly by primary capital raising.

Nevertheless, IPOs are down by more than 60%. Companies are unwilling to test appetite for a new listing with so much uncertainty ...
