CFA Institute urges investor caution over dual-class shares

Two prominent Asian markets approved dual-class securities this year, but the CFA Institute this week warned of a host of risks that the structure poses to investors.

The institute surveyed its Asia Pacific-based members for a report published on Tuesday. It found the top three concerns are minority investor protection, skewed ownership and control, and “a race to the bottom in terms of corporate governance standards”.
