China’s Cifi pays heavily to add $300m to its coffers

Cifi Holdings Group Co added $300m to its existing 2022 bonds on Wednesday as it got ahead of the expected supply pipeline, but the real estate company was forced to pay a juicy premium for the deal.

Between this week's public holiday in China and Hong Kong and the US Federal Reserve meeting, Cifi saw an opportunity to add to its old deal. Its original $285m 5.5% 2022 transaction was sold in December 2016.
