Creditors agree Steinhoff deadline extension

Creditors to retailer Steinhoff have agreed to give the scandal-hit company an extra three weeks to provide a debt restructuring plan, two days after the company said it would not be able to hammer out a deal in time for the initial June 30 deadline.

Steinhoff on Wednesday asked its creditors to move the restructuring deadline to July 20, as while the group said “significant progress” had been made on the plan, it needed time from creditors to approve a lock-up agreement.
