J.P. Morgan Securities has tapped Edward Marrinan, managing director, to take over as head of North American credit strategy, reporting to Margaret Cannella, head of North American credit research. Marrinan, currently based in London where he is co-head of European financial institutions, says he expects to have completed his move to New York by late June. He fills a spot vacated by Bill Cunningham, who left the firm to join FTN Financial earlier this year. Marrinan's replacement in London has yet to be determined, he says.
Marrinan has been with J.P. Morgan for 10 years, all in London. He was head of European credit research from 1993-99, and was European credit strategist from 1999-2001. A call to Cannella was not returned.
