Maryam Muessel |
Maryam Muessel, head of the structured finance business at collateral manager American Capital Access, has left the firm. The move comes ahead of its planned initial public offering. Muessel, who was an executive v.p. and chief operating officer, left the company last Friday, said Cathy Bailey, director of marketing. ACA has closed seven CDOs and is ramping up two more; it has also filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to float shares. One outsider said Muessel, who is well known in the structured finance world and was a fixture at industry conferences, left ACA because she was unhappy with her post-IPO role. Muessel did not return a message left at her former office and could not immediately be reached. Bailey declined to say why Muessel left or how her departure might affect the planned IPO. In the interim, Muessel’s role will be filled by Bill Tomljanovic, executive v.p. and head of a group that provides customized financial solutions for companies.
