Royal Bank of Scotland in London has made Alberto Thomas, previously a director in credit derivative structuring at ABN AMRO in London, head of credit derivative structuring. This is a new role at RBS. Thomas starts in July and will report to Vincent Dahinden, head of the structured credit and equity product group. Dahinden referred calls to a spokesman, who confirmed the hire but declined further comment. Thomas is on gardening leave and could not be reached.
At ABN, Thomas reported to Richard Whittle, global head of exotic credit derivatives. Whittle said he is looking to hire for the team in coming months, but declined further comment.
