Deutsche Bank has hired Eric Soderlund, an equity derivatives salesman at UBS Warburg in New York, to fill a similar role, according to market officials. Headhunters said Soderlund's hire is one of several the firm's equity derivatives group is planning to make over the next several months to build its sales team. He reports to Rick Goldsmith, head of equity derivatives sales.
Ralph Reynolds, managing director and global co-head of equity linked products in New York, declined to confirm whether the bank was planning to beef up the derivatives team. He said the firm is currently mapping out its human resources strategy for 2002 and assessing where it might need new team members. While at UBS Soderlund reported to Michael Mahaffey, managing director of equity derivatives. Goldsmith and Mahaffey did not return calls.
