ING Financial Markets is considering structuring equity-linked deals on Turkish underlying on the back of growing investor appetite for emerging markets. "We've seen strong interest on Brazil, Russia, India and China as well as for Eastern Europe--it makes sense to look at other markets," said an official at the firm.
ING has been leveraging its capabilities in emerging markets on both the fixed income and equity front as investors are chasing returns. For instance, it recently started rolling out emerging market collateralized debt obligations (DW, 11/23). The firm official said it was too early to comment on a timeframe for product launch but noted the market is being eyed closely, given its proximity to the home European market.
