Michael Pringle, head of equity derivatives flow trading at Credit Suisse in London, has left and is headed to Merrill Lynch. Pringle is on gardening leave and could not be reached. Brent Clapacs, head of equities for Europe at Merrill, declined comment and details of Pringle's new role at the firm could not be determined.

Credit Suisse announced Matt Downer, head of convertibles trading, was taking on some responsibility for equity derivatives flow trading in February, reporting to Pringle (DW, 2/17). Downer was on vacation and calls to the desk were referred to corporate communications, where Amy Thompson, spokeswoman, did not comment on a replacement for Pringle by press time.
