IXIS Corporate & Investment Banking is bulking up its sales effort with several hires in fixed-income and equity derivatives in the region. Frederic Chan, marketer at the Bank of New York in Hong Kong, joins as a director in Hong Kong to initiate fixed-income sales for Taiwan. Dong Hoon Lee, head of the alternative investment desk, and Kisoo Park, structurer, both at Deutsche Asset Management in Seoul, join IXIS in Tokyo for fixed-income sales for Korea. Additionally, Isabella Wu, marketer at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong, comes on board in a similar role for alternative investment sales.
"After setting up our branch in Hong Kong, we're moving country by country and now have Taiwan and Korea covered," said Thierry Guinard, head of sales for Asia-Pacific in Hong Kong. Guinard transferred late last year from Paris to oversee the firm's expansion in sales for structured equity, credit, interest rate and alternative investments. He continued, "After North Asia we'll later expand into Southeast Asia."
