Compensation and volatility hit Credit Suisse results

Market volatility triggered by the European sovereign debt crisis and a decline in client trading activity hit Credit Suisse’s full-year results for 2010, as did a dramatic increase in compensation compared to the final quarter of 2009. But although most divisions posted lower profits than the previous year, the fourth quarter performance was more encouraging.
