Goldman Loses High-Grade 'Money-Making Machine'

Simon Park, managing director in investment-grade trading at Goldman Sachs in New York, has left the firm and is believed to be moving to a similar role at UBS in Stamford, Conn.

Simon Park, managing director in investment-grade trading at Goldman Sachs in New York, has left the firm and is believed to be moving to a similar role at UBS in Stamford, Conn. Park is expected to work in principal finance at UBS and report to Ken Karl, managing director and global head of principal finance. Karl did not return a call by press time and Kris Kagel, spokesman, declined comment.

At Goldman, Park was a "money-making machine," according to one headhunter. Park traded the crossover and triple-B sectors and reported to Paul Huchro, head of investment-grade trading. A trader at Goldman confirmed Park has left the firm and referred further inquiries to Huchro. A call to Huchro was referred to Andrea Rachman, spokeswoman, who did not return a call by press time.
