Deutsche Bank has hired Yves-Francois Brogard, equity finance sales for French-speaking countries at Goldman Sachs in London, in a similar position. The equity finance sales department caters to the cash and equity derivative needs of hedge fund clients.
Nicholas Roe, managing director and head of global equity finance sales at Deutsche Bank in London, said Brogard will join in August, as a replacement for Angela West who will start covering the Italian market. The firm decided to hire a native French speaker to cover the French market and move West to cover the nascent Italian market. He believes Deutsche Bank is in a unique position to win business in Italy because it is the only first-tier prime broker with an Italian-based custody service.
West and press officers at Goldman Sachs did not return calls.
