Bear Stearns International has hired a pair of derivatives marketers in London to strengthen its coverage of the French market, according to Jérôme Camblain, senior managing director-head of sales fixed income and derivatives Europe. Sophie Billiard has joined from Morgan Stanley as an equity derivatives marketer andMathias Echene, v.p.-structured products marketing at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney, will join Bear Stearns at the end of August to market fixed income and credit derivatives.
Camblain and Echene both previously worked together at Nomura International in London.
Camblain said the hires complement the recent additions of cash fixed income marketers Gilles Albou from Park Place Capital and Sylvain Davoine from Deutsche Bank.
Morgan Stanley has no plans to replace Billiard since it had already expended its French equity derivatives marketing coverage prior to her departure, said Alastair Cooper, managing director-head of equity derivatives marketing in London.
Andres Recoder, managing director-head of European structured product marketing at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney in London, declined comment on whether the firm will replace Echene.
