SG Equity Duo Join Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank has hired Kim Gayer, head of equity sales for Germany, Austria and South Africa at Société Générale in Paris, and his deputy Florian de Sigy. Gayer, who had been at SG for eight years, will join as a managing director and head of the Northern Europe sales team, while de Sigy joins as v.p. focusing on Germany and Austria.

Gayer, who is on gardening leave and does not start until July 15, said he joined Deutsche Bank to have a wider scope and because his main market, Germany, is more central to Deutsche Bank's strategy than SG's. The pair's main products are going to be structured equity products for institutional investors, such as pension funds and life insurance companies. Gayer will report to Johan Groothaert, managing director and head of structured products in London. Groothaert said this is part of an overall expansion of the firm's equity business.

At SG Gayer reported to Stanislas Debreu, global head of sales and marketing for equity derivatives in Paris. Debreu declined comment.
