Morgan Stanley's Stanford Siao, executive director-equity derivatives trading in Hong Kong, has left the firm, according to market officials. "He's now taking a long holiday," said one equity dealer, noting that while Siao is officially on sabbatical, he has left the firm. Market officials noted that Siao is a veteran of the Asian markets, having worked at both Morgan Stanley and Bankers Trust. Siao could not be reached for comment.
Pauling Cheung, a Morgan Stanley spokeswoman in Hong Kong, said in an e-mail to DW that Siao is on sabbatical, declining further comment. Taiwanese newspaper the Commercial Times recently reported that Siao is joining KGI Securities. Officials at KGI were unable to confirm or deny the report by press time.
