Citi Shuffles Trading Heads In Korea

Citigroup's financial markets group in Seoul has been hit by a pair of high-level departures, according to officials close to the firm.

Citigroup's financial markets group in Seoul has been hit by a pair of high-level departures, according to officials close to the firm. Alex Park, treasurer and head of the financial markets group, has reportedly taken a new role within the firm's private banking group and J.S. Kim, head of trading, has left the firm. Park referred calls to C.S. Kim, spokesman in Seoul, who confirmed J.S. Kim's departure but declined all further comment. J.S. Kim could not be reached for comment.

J.S. Kim is believed to be assuming a new role at Lehman Brothers in Tokyo as head of fixed income trading for Korea, according to two officials. Lehman, which does not have a derivatives trading operation in Seoul, recently has been looking to bulk up its offshore trading capabilities. Hyung Soon Lee, Asian head of fixed income at Lehman in Tokyo, was traveling and could not be reached, and Ilja Maynard-Gregory, spokeswoman for Lehman in Hong Kong, declined comment.
