HSBC has hired Michael Mancini, credit derivatives sales staffer at TD Securities in New York, in a similar role. It could not be determined whether Mancini is filling a newly created position, although several officials noted that HSBC has been aggressively building its credit business over the past year. Pamela Plehn, spokeswoman at HSBC in New York, declined comment. Kelly Heckler, spokeswoman at TD Bank in Toronto, did not return calls.
