Philip Kearns, a fixed income derivatives trader at RBS Greenwich Capital Markets in Greenwich, Conn., has joined quantitative trading firm D.E. Shaw & Co. in New York. Kearns referred comment to Nicholas Gianakouros, spokesman in New York, who declined comment. The exact role Kearns is filling, and whether he takes a newly created seat, could not be determined.
Alan Katz, spokesman at Cubitt Jacobs & Prosek Communications in New York, which represents RBS, declined comment on his replacement.
