KBC Financial Products has named Aaron Ford, an equity derivatives sales staffer, to the newly created position of head of equity derivatives sales and trading in the U.S. Thomas Korossy, co-head of KBC in New York, said the position was created in response to growth in the firm's over-the-counter business, which Ford joined the firm to build up. Until Ford's hire from UBS last fall (DW, 10/6) the firm had primarily focused on listed options.
Ford's hire was regarded as a coup for the firm, as Ford had been one of UBS' top equity derivatives producers. Prior to taking on a sales role Ford has worked as an equity derivatives trader.
In the new organization Richard Winter, who had headed equity derivatives sales, now reports to Ford, as do all equity derivatives traders. The traders had previously reported directly into Jason Cuevas, head of U.S. trading in New York, to whom Ford now reports.
