Richard Platt, sterling interest rate options trader at JPMorgan in London, has joined Merrill Lynch. Platt is expected to cover euro rates trading at Merrill. He will report to Jonathan Mitchell, head of inflation and options trading. Mitchell also hired two inflation traders fromThe Royal Bank of Scotland in May (DW, 5/16), who started at Merrill last week.
Mitchell declined comment and Platt could not be reached. Sarah Oppler, spokeswoman at JPMorgan in London, confirmed Platt's departure and said the bank would be hiring in due course.
