Russia’s MTS repays loan early as emerging market firms look for cheaper debt locally
Mobile TeleSystems, Russia’s biggest mobile phone operator, will repay a $710m three year syndicated loan obtained last May, in what bankers say could be the beginning of a trend of emerging market borrowers taking out expensive bank debt signed over the last year.
