Candover results herald more pain for PE firms
Candover Investments, the investment trust run by private equity firm Candover, has taken big writedowns on many of its high profile deals, including writing six investments down to zero, and will not for the foreseeable future be making any more investments alongside its 2008 fund, it said today (Monday). Its net asset value dropped by half in 2008.
