Filtrona refinances, shies away from sterling
Filtrona, the UK plastics and fibres company, has refinanced £243m of syndicated and bilateral loans, replacing them with a dollar- and euro-denominated facility totalling $290m (£195m). The move makes Filtrona the latest borrower to swap majority sterling-denominated debt into other currencies to counter the effects of a weak UK currency.
