Asia head of credit sales leaves BoA-Merrill

Managing director and head of credit and special situation sales for Asia, Edward Wu, has left BoA-Merrill.

Edward Wu, managing director and head of credit and special situation sales for Asia at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BoA-Merrill) left the bank on Tuesday March 19.

Sources suggest he may be replaced by one of two people.

The first is Paul Gamble, former regional head of credit sales at Deustche Bank, who left the German lender in January this year, amid a restructure of its sales products group, led by Matthew Blackwell and David Beale.

The other possible replacement suggested by sources is Justin Yang, former managing director and head of Asia credit sales at UBS who, like Gamble, left his position in January this year.

Gamble worked at Deutsche Bank with Loh Boon Chye, who joined BoA-Merrill as deputy president for Asia Pacific and head of Asia Pacific global markets in October last year.

It is understood that Loh may bring in a number of his credit sales team from Deutsche Bank over to BoA-Merrill during the next few months.

A spokesperson for BoA-Merrill declined to comment on his departure and Asiamoney PLUS could not reach Wu for comment by press time.
