Cantor usurps leveraged finance banks with Mike Johnson hire

Cantor Fitzgerald has hired a former head of BNP Paribas’ London leveraged finance team in a move to capitalise on a shift in liquidity from banks to institutional investors.

Mike Johnson will be Cantor’s head of European leveraged capital markets reporting to Elon Spar, chief executive of Cantor Fitzgerald in Europe. He will be responsible for arranging LBO loans, underwriting high yield bonds and restructuring.
