UCB launches Eu2bn refi facility

Belgian biopharma group UCB has launched a Eu2bn loan to refinance part of the debt it took on to buy German rival Schwarz Pharma in 2006.

The facility is split into a Eu500m 364 day term loan and a Eu1.5bn three year revolver with an optional one year extension. The deal is being co-ordinated by BNP Paribas Fortis, Commerzbank and Mizuho.
