Trade company buys KP Snacks

Intersnack Group, a German firm, has acquired the UK's KP Snacks in a deal worth around £500m that will be funded through a combination of shareholder equity and debt.

Intersnack, which has operations across Europe, bought KP Snacks from United Biscuits, a UK-based firm that has been owned by Blackstone and PAI Partners since 2006. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2013.
