The former Lehman Brothers heads of European debt capital markets and leveraged finance are set to take up similar positions with Nomura, which acquired parts of the US broker-dealer following its bankruptcy last month.

Nomura this week hired more than 150 former Lehman Brothers staff from the US bank’s fixed income division. The hires are within the flow and solutions businesses, strengthening Nomura’s credit, interest rates and foreign exchange teams.

WestLB has strengthened its leveraged loans business by hiring Mihai Joca as an associate director. Joca, who was hired from Royal Bank of Scotland, will work in origination and report to Tom Mulligan, a director in loan syndications.
