The great and the good of the global bond markets joined EuroWeek on Thursday night for its 2010 Bond Dinner at the Royal Courts of Justice in London. Over 350 top borrowers and bankers from across the SSA, FIG, corporate, MTN and EM sectors filled the Great Hall. Key awards were given out including best sovereign borrower, best FIG funding official, best emerging market borrower and best corporate funding official. African Export-Import Bank (Afrexim) increased a syndicated loan from $240m-equivalent to $486m on Monday after a blowout response from retail lenders, about 40 of which joined the deal.

Peter Hurd joined Nomura’s loan and high yield capital markets team in London on Monday. He was hired from New Amsterdam Capital in London, where he was an executive director. Before he joined the investment firm in 2006, he worked in leveraged finance at JPMorgan and Picus Capital.

Credit Suisse has hired Stephen Snizek, a senior loan trader from HSBC, who is joining as managing director and co-head of par loan trading in the European syndicated loan group.
