Dominion Bond Rating Service is investigating setting up a structured finance team in Germany. The Canadian ratings agency created the London-based Europe, Middle East and Africa structured finance group, headed by Apea Koranteng, earlier this year and added a Paris team in June. It reportedly now has its sights set on building a group in Frankfurt, where the agency already has an office.
Koranteng was unavailable for comment and Kai Gilkes, managing director in the structured finance quantitative group at DBRS in London, declined comment on the locations the agency is considering. "The European market is where we want to participate," Gilkes said. "We will expand wherever it makes the most sense."
