3i ‘prepared’ for VNU equity injection

The facility backing the buyout of Dutch publishing group VNU Business Media Europe is the latest 2007 vintage leveraged loan to come under pressure, with lenders and sponsor 3i in negotiations about how to restructure the company’s debt. 3i, meanwhile, revealed today that it was writing the value of its 50 biggest investments by 21%, and that its chief executive Philip Yea was stepping down.
