Lack of liquidity drags bankers down

Bankers in the secondary loan market this week bemoaned a lack of liquidity in the sector as a sluggish flow of deals brought trades volumes grinding to a near halt.

"There have been some deals for the likes of Gala, Boots and United Biscuits, but they’ve all been trades of less than Eu2bn," said one trader. "There’s just nothing out there to really shake the market."
