CVC buys stake in Merlin Entertainment

Private equity house CVC Capital Partners has bought a 28% stake in Merlin Entertainments Group, the UK private equity owned operator of Madame Tussauds and Legoland, in a deal valuing the company at $3.4bn.

The company is in talks to amend and extend its debt, but says it has no plans to increase the financing.

Dubai International Capital has sold its stake in the company and private equity company Blackstone group has reduced its ownership in Merlin Entertainment by 34%.
