Alcatel-Lucent targets US for restructuring finance

Alcatel-Lucent, the telecommunications company that was formed after a merger in 2006, is to take a deal of more than €1bn to the US, citing that market's better understanding of the company and opportunities for more attractive pricing.

The troubled company is seeking to restructure its financing as losses mount. It is expected to release further details soon on the deal, which is being led by Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse and may include Citigroup, JP Morgan and Barclays.
