FSB to assess bank capital buffer ‘usability’ in July report

The Financial Stability Board is looking into how banks have used their capital and liquidity buffers during the coronavirus crisis and expects to publish a report containing some of its ‘preliminary’ findings in July.

The FSB, a global financial standards body, published the details of its workstream for 2021 on Thursday morning.  

A large part of the organisation’s focus will be on addressing the vulnerabilities that surfaced in the financial system during the coronavirus pandemic last year.
