Santander Chile enters world of ESG funding with Japanese PP

Banco Santander Chile sold its first ESG-themed bond on Tuesday, raising $50m in a private placement with a Japanese investor to finance small and medium sized enterprises led by women.

Daiwa Securities managed Santander Chile’s three year private bond issue, sold at a yield of 0.71%. Proceeds will be used to finance new credit operations to SMEs led by women.
