Total Play makes market entry to encourage Mex HY

Latin American bond bankers said that Mexican telecoms company Total Play Comunicaciones’ debut bond issue on Monday — the second Mexican high yield deal since the onset of Covid-19 — was an encouraging sign for other issuers from the country.

After the deteriorating market conditions during the week before the US elections forced B2/BB- rated Total Play to postpone its deal, confidence about a Joe Biden victory and positive news on Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine created the ideal stage on Monday.
