China issuers sneak into closing bond window

A host of Chinese issuers found one of the last windows to sell bonds on Thursday ahead of the US presidential elections at the beginning of November and a public holiday in Hong Kong early next week.

The US is going to the polls on November 3 to elect its next president, with early indications suggesting a victory for Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Some analysts worry that a Biden win could cause Donald Trump to contest the results, adding uncertainty to global markets.
