Covid must be factored into resolution plans, says EBA

The European Banking Authority is urging resolution planners to consider the real impact of Covid-19 on banks. It wants to make sure that resolution can be seen as a "credible" option in times of stress.

The coronavirus pandemic has created a lot of uncertainty for the European economy. Many supervisors are therefore focusing on looking through the cycle, to determine what bank balance sheets might look like in the longer term.
