ECM returns defy risks to keep up demand

The returns on EMEA equity capital market supply are proving so buoyant this year that investors are braying for more, despite risks posed by crises such as the coronavirus outbreak.

Year-to-date ECM deals from the region have produced 6.75% in weighted aftermarket returns, according to Dealogic data. The market as a whole has generated $1.3bn-equivalent returns for investors.

In contrast with the EMEA blocks market, the FTSE 100 is down 1% year-to-date, the German DAX is up 2.7% ...
