Covered bond market to ‘feel less rushed’ in January

The covered bond market will enter 2020 on the front foot, supported by a wave of favourable forces such as the European Central Bank’s Asset Purchase Programme and low interest rates.

“Next year the start of the market will feel much less rushed compared to last year,” said a syndicate banker.

The financial institutions bond market is enjoying a period of tight spreads, supported by low rates and the ECB’s enthusiastic buying of covered bonds.
