Sweden highlights risk of ‘marginalisation’ outside of Banking Union

Sweden published a study on Tuesday of the advantages and disadvantages of joining the EU’s Banking Union, highlighting the risk of becoming politically marginalised if it remains outside of the arrangements.

The Banking Union is a structure of common supervision and resolution for banks in the EU, which operates with reference to a single rulebook.

Sweden has been looking at joining the group for a number of years, along with its Nordic peer Denmark.
