European government bond supply and trading volumes rise in Q1

Issuance and average daily trading volumes of European government bonds rose in the first quarter of 2019, according to a report by Afme on Monday.

Gross European Union government bond issuance reached €361bn in the first quarter of 2019, an increase from  €343bn in the first quarter of 2018. Including issuance of bills, supply totalled €684bn, an increase from €668bn in 2018.
