Former CSRC chairman under investigation

Liu Shiyu, former chairman of the China Securities and Regulatory Commission (CSRC), is under investigation after turning himself in to the nation’s corruption watchdog, according to a statement on Sunday.

Liu’s last public appearance was on May 13 when he met Nguyen Ngoc Bao, president of the Vietnam Cooperation Alliance (VCA), the Vietnamese counterpart of All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, of which Liu was deputy party secretary.
